Purpose of Image Collection

The objective of this project is to collect a high-volume dataset of simple Neutral Selfies, Head-Pose Selfies and Historical Images to support machine-learning research and model training, with a primary focus on face deduplication. While demographic diversity is a secondary goal, we aim for broad representation across regions, age groups, and gender.

The collected data may be used for purposes including:

Face deduplication and identity resolution
Face recognition in unconstrained conditions
Age estimation and progression analysis

Face Data: Collection, Use, Disclosure, and Retention

This section provides a complete disclosure of how the application collects, uses, discloses, stores, and retains biometric face data, in compliance with applicable privacy regulations and platform guidelines.

What face data is collected

The app collects portrait photographs of individuals — specifically neutral-expression selfies, head-pose selfies captured from varying angles, and historical images. These photographs contain facial biometric information including facial geometry, structure, and appearance data.

How face data is used

Face deduplication and identity resolution — to detect whether the same individual appears across multiple submissions in the dataset.
Face recognition in unconstrained conditions — to train models capable of identifying faces across varying lighting, angles, and image quality.
Age estimation and progression analysis — to study and model how facial appearance changes over time and across age groups.

Face data is used exclusively for internal machine-learning research and model training. It is not used for identification of individuals in real-world contexts, law enforcement, surveillance, or any commercial advertising purpose.

Disclosure and third-party sharing

Face data is not sold, rented, licensed, or disclosed to any third parties. Access is restricted exclusively to internal research teams and authorized personnel directly involved in the project. No external vendors, commercial partners, or public entities receive access to collected face data.

Storage location

All collected face data is stored on our own secured servers.

Retention period

Face data is retained for a maximum period of one (1) year from the date of collection. Upon expiry of this period, data will be securely deleted or irreversibly anonymized in accordance with the organization's data disposal policy, unless a shorter retention period is required by applicable law. Participants who withdraw consent may request deletion of their data prior to the end of this retention period.

Types of Data Collected

The project collect:

Photographs containing facial biometric data (neutral selfies, head-pose selfies, and historical images)
Associated metadata (e.g., date, location, device information, annotations)
Demographic information provided voluntarily by the participant

Data Sharing

Your data, including all facial images and associated metadata, is shared only with internal research teams and directly authorized personnel. It is not shared with any third parties, external partners, or publicly accessible systems under any circumstances.

Data Requirement

I have reviewed the specifications regarding the number and types of images required for this project and understand the quality criteria that must be met. I am willing to replace any images that are rejected following AI or human review.

Confidentiality and Security

The organization implements reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational security measures to protect all collected data — including facial biometric data — against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Access to face data is strictly limited to personnel with a direct and necessary role in the research project.

Voluntary Participation

Participation is entirely voluntary. Refusal to participate or withdrawal at any time will not result in any penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled. If you withdraw, you may request that your face data be securely deleted prior to the end of the standard one-year retention period.

Consent Declaration

By signing below, I confirm that:

I have read and understood this consent form in its entirety.
I voluntarily agree to provide my images and related information for the purposes described above.
I understand that my images contain facial biometric data and I consent to its collection, storage, and use for internal machine-learning research as described in Section 2.
I understand the potential uses, risks, and limitations associated with ML and model training.
I understand that payment will be given only after my photos pass AI and human quality checks.

Permissions granted

I consent to the collection of my facial images and associated metadata with the indicated specifications.
I consent to the retention of my face data for up to one (1) year from the date of collection.
I understand my data will not be shared with any third parties outside the internal research team.
